Mass shooting in NY kills three people
Officials said gunfire erupted early Sunday inside the Taste of the City Lounge at 903 Franklin Avenue in the Crown Heights area, leaving eight additional individuals wounded. The three victims who died were men aged 27, 35, and one of an unknown age. The injured were transported to local hospitals, but their conditions have not yet been released.
Police have not identified any suspects in connection with the attack. A video from the scene shows investigators inside the restaurant amid broken glass and pools of blood. Authorities reported finding at least 36 shell casings at the location.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the event as “a terrible thing” and “an anomaly,” noting that “we have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year we have seen on record in the city of New York.”
