US to give Ukraine with intelligence for long-range missile strikes

(MENAFN) According to reports, the United States is preparing to supply Ukraine with intelligence support for long-range missile operations targeting Russian energy infrastructure.

Officials indicated that President Donald Trump has recently authorized the use of American intelligence and Pentagon assistance for such strikes—marking the first time his administration has backed this kind of action. They also noted that Washington has asked NATO partners to consider offering similar aid.

While the approval has been given, insiders mentioned that US officials are waiting for formal written instructions from the White House before moving forward with sharing intelligence.

This move to strengthen Ukraine’s military capabilities comes as Trump’s efforts to mediate peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv have seen little progress.

Reports also suggested that Washington may send Tomahawk cruise missiles, Barracudas, and other US-manufactured weapons capable of striking targets up to 500 miles (804 kilometers) away. However, a final decision on providing these systems has not yet been reached.

When asked about the matter, representatives from the Defense Intelligence Agency and the CIA declined to comment.

Earlier this week, US Vice President JD Vance confirmed that Washington was reviewing Ukraine’s request for Tomahawk missiles, adding that Trump would make "the final determination" on whether to proceed.

The Kremlin dismissed the potential impact of such weapons. On Monday, spokesman Dmitry Peskov remarked that there is "no panacea that can change the situation on the front for the Kyiv regime."
